Sustainability

At Rustic by Rebecca, we are committed to making conscious, responsible choices that reduce our environmental impact while delivering beautiful, high-quality styling for your special events.

We recognise that the events industry can generate significant waste, and we are continuously working to ensure our practices are as sustainable as possible.

Our Commitment

We aim to:

• Minimise waste across all aspects of our business

• Reuse and repurpose decor wherever possible

• Source materials responsibly and ethically

• Support sustainable suppliers and local businesses

• Continually review and improve our environmental practices

Reuse & Hire Model

A core part of our business is built around prop hire and reusable decor. By offering high quality items for hire rather than single-use purchases, we help reduce unnecessary production and waste.

Many of our styling pieces are designed to be used time and time again, without compromising on style or quality.

Materials & Sourcing

Where possible, we:

• Choose sustainable, recyclable, or biodegradable materials

• Avoid single-use plastics

• Source from local suppliers to reduce transportation emissions

• Invest in durable, long-lasting products

Floristry, Foliage & Natural Elements

We aim to incorporate environmentally conscious practices into our floristry/foliage styling by:

• Using seasonal foliage where possible

• Minimising foam usage and opting for eco-friendly alternatives

• Repurposing arrangements throughout your event (e.g. ceremony to reception)

• Sourcing flowers/foliage from local florists

We actively work to reduce waste by:

• Carefully planning installations to avoid excess materials

• Reusing packaging materials

Working With Our Couples

We love working with couples and clients who share our values. If sustainability is important to you, we are always happy to:

• Suggest eco-friendly styling options

• Recommend reusable decor alternatives

• Help design a beautiful event with minimal environmental impact

Looking Ahead

Sustainability is an ongoing journey. We are committed to learning, evolving, and improving our practices wherever possible to ensure we are doing our part for the planet.

Carbon Emissions Summary

At Rustic by Rebecca, we recognise the importance of understanding and reducing our carbon footprint as part of our commitment to more sustainable business practices.

As a small, service-based venue styling business, our overall carbon emissions are relatively low compared to product-based industries. Our primary sources of emissions come from transportation to and from venues, the sourcing of materials and decor, and the energy used in storage, preparation, and maintenance of our stock.

A significant part of our business is built around a hire and reuse model, which plays a key role in reducing emissions. By offering highvquality decor for repeated use, we minimise the need for new production and help prevent unnecessary waste associated with single-use event items.

We are mindful of our environmental impact and actively take steps to reduce our emissions by:

• Planning efficient delivery and collection routes to limit fuel use

• Reusing and maintaining existing stock to extend product life cycles

• Sourcing materials responsibly and prioritising local suppliers where possible

• Reducing reliance on single-use items

• Recycling and reusing packaging materials

While we are still in the early stages of formally measuring our carbon output, we are committed to improving our understanding of our emissions and identifying further opportunities to reduce them over time.

Our goal is to continue evolving our practices in a way that balances beautiful event styling with responsible environmental choices.
